About Kevin
Kevin Shores Smith is an independent singer-songwriter and recording artist who has written and recorded four full-length albums to date. His music falls within the singer-songwriter tradition and is influenced by various genres including rock, pop, and classical. Much of Kevin's music is piano-driven and emphasizes strong vocals, but orchestral and rock band elements also play an important role in his work on the whole.
Kevin grew up in Chicago and earned a Bachelor of Music degree at Northwestern University. While in college, he wrote and recorded the albums "Our Fine Insecurities" and "Impermanent Reconstructions," the latter being a live recording of the debut performance of the songs. Soon after graduating, he moved to New York City where he recorded his album "Paranoia Americana."
He now lives in San Francisco where he completed his latest album "Some Things Borrowed" in September 2017. His work continues to emphasize his ability to handle all aspects of writing, arranging, recording, and mixing.
